Have a Rockin' Bday

Happy Friday!! It is time for a brand new Farm Fresh Friday challenge over at the Farm. The theme for this week is Paaaaarrrteeeyyyyy! My teamie Melissa was in charge this week and she was throwing herself a goodbye party as our term will be ending at the end of this year. Sniff, sniff. Time has gone by too quickly.

Any-hoo. I created a birthday card for my friends son. He will be celebrating in a few weeks and he was crazy about the card I made for him last year that I made this one a little extra special. Last year I kind of just slapped something together thinking he would toss it to the side after tearing it open. But I was wrong.

I hope you have a Rockin' weekend like CC James here.
Thanks for stopping by!

A Small Halt to Christmas

Happy Wednesday!! Today is my day to showcase on The Greeting Farm blog and I thought I'd put a small halt to all the Christmas madness. Lol! I know that we are less than a month to go before I'm rummaging under the tree hoping Santa brought me a spanking brand new iPad mini. I was so against it at first but it wasn't long before I said to myself, Jess you need an iPad mini. First of all, your iPad needs a companion, lol, and second it will be easier to carry around. So yeah, here I am hoping Santa deems I was a good girl. :)

Any-hoo, as I said Christmas is here but here in So-Cal it is as warm as it can be. The weather has been very nice, even beach weather that I'm refusing to accept that we will be fa-la-la-lin' soon. So on that note, here is a very girly and pink card featuring Anya Latte. I made this card with Valentine day in mind to give to my best gal friend. She's not the type of gal that wears pink but she is the type of gal that loves her coffee so it all works out.

Thanks for stopping by! Until next time.

Edited to add: Here's a quickie card showing you how to use up your colored images that you may have laying around. I have several and I'm constantly trying to use them up. However always have the same problem, what dp should I use. I don't want to rummage through all my stacks so I make it easy on myself and use a neutral base such as white or kraft and then add one or two embellishments. And voila, I'm done :)

Double Take Tuesday: Color

Happy Tuesday All!! Today is a new DTT challenge over at The Greeting Farm blog. This week we have a color challenge for you, the colors are Light Pink, Sage Green, Baby Blue and White (but I made a boo-boo and used much brighter colors, whoops lol). I used the fabulous new Anya Styles for the card. The sentiment is one of the 2 sentiments that comes with her. I hope you get to play along.

The Greeting Farm is spreading the Love

Happy Friday!! I'm here with a long-ish post :) ...

TGF is spreading the love this Thanksgiving holiday. Jessica and Marie are very thankful and feel blessed for what they have and they wanted to show gratitude with a special Thanksgiving challenge.
The Challenge: Create a card or project with the theme of Thankfulness. You must use a TGF image to play along. Once you enter your card, please send Jessica a private email and nominate a person you might know that is a little down on their luck, struggling financially, etc. Please note that TGF will not share the name of the recipient you nominate - it will be private. Please click here to read the post in full.

My challenge card features Navajo Anya.

Now for our new Farm Fresh Friday challenge of the week..the theme is Twilight/Fairytale. I created a mini box using the new CC Sadie and I colored her up with Bella as a newly hatched vampire in mind (hence the red eyes).
On the inside, I added a Cullen necklace that I bought at Nordstrom along with an ATC featuring Flirty Edward from The Roll Call Kit. I think its a cute little gift for a Twi-Hard don't you think? :)

Now for a quickie card. I had this little gal colored up (who originally was slated for Halloween but seeing as that day has come and gone, lol) I decided to use her up for a "spooky birthday" theme card. Lol, I know I'm stretching it on this one but my stash of Kraftin Kimmie Stamps is extremely small and I wanted to play along with their Food/Drink Challenge. All I need to do is type up a Happy Birthday sentiment and I'm done. I'm in need of a good birthday stamp set. Any recommendations?

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you have a great Friday and weekend!

Purple Hair Beans

Hey All. Happy Wednesday!! Today will indeed be happy on my side of the country as we are scheduled for beautiful 70/80 degree weather. It's a shame I cant go frolicking off to the beach though. Oh well :)

So I'm here today with my project for Double Take Tuesday Challenge over at the TGF Blog. This week it is a sketch challenge hosted by Shaela. I created a post-it note holder using the new Twinkle Bean. Her hair was a challenge for me (as I originally began with blonde hair and pink tips but somewhere along the lines I began to add more colors and then I just couldn't give up. Lol. So I ended up with another purple hair bean. But that's ok, she can pull it off, don't ya' think? By the way, I was the Farm Fresh Friday hostess and my theme was Anything But a Card so this notepad is another sample for that challenge.

And here is my first Bean with purple hair. This is Bright Bean and she was used for an older DTT Color challenge card from October. The color scheme was Purple, Green and Black (very Halloweenie) but I wanted something cleaner and versatile.

So there you have it :) A couple of challenges to play along with for the chance to win some Farm goodies.

It's a Boy Card

Hi There! I'm here to quickly share a card I created for a friend of mine. She had a baby shower this past weekend to attend to a she wanted a special card with specific colors. It turned out that this adorable elephant, "I Forgot" from Mo Manning was perfect because the baby shower theme was elephants. Yay for coincidence! Lol.

Fashionably Late!

Hello All! So it's been about 3 weeks that I don't pop open this blog. So yeah, I guess you can say I'm fashionably late with several of my posts. Lol! I'll start off with a recent ones....

As you may know, Farm Fresh Friday challenges begin every Friday on the TGF Blog. This week was my turn to host and I chose the theme ABC: Anything But a Card. I thought with the holidays around the corner it would be a good time to start on some stocking stuffers. I altered a mini comp book using mod podge, kraft paper and the uber cool new CC James. He's a great boy stamp that I think is perfect for all your boy cards as well as girl projects.

Now for my card featuring the new Anya Styles from The Greeting Farm. This gal is one of the new biggie stamps that were first debuted in July. She is larger than norm (for TGF) but that is what I love about it because she can be used for bigger projects. The color combo used: Red, Teal and White is for our current Double Take Tuesday challenge. This DTT challenges rotate weekly from color to sketch so you still have a few more days to play along with these colors.

Now onto a little peek into my life. Here's a picture of my messy desk with all my current projects. I started working on some stocking stuffers but because I work in intervals and I like to take loooong breaks, lol, I tend to not finish right away. Well because of that, my mess has spilled over to my chair and because I sometimes get the "lazies" :) I work on the floor. So here's hoping I finish up this weekend so I can get my desk and chair back. Have a great Saturday!!
