"Thankful" Card

Hello Everyone! I hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend.
Halloween is basically out the door and Thanksgiving is ready to take center stage. I'm excited about the upcoming holiday but once Thanksgiving is over, Christmas & New Year slap you in the face and the year is over. Yikes!! BUT the excitement of Black Friday overcomes my end of the year anxieties. So it all works out.

So onto my project...I thought I would make a Fall theme card. When I generally think of Fall i think of pumpkins (which equals into pumpkin pie, Mmmmmmmm) and the colors of leaves changing. And of course there are the holidays but I didn't want to have a specific made card. So I made this card with versatility in mind. It can be used as a Thank You card, a Thanksgiving card or a Thinking of You card (if the sentiment is changed)

I love this pumpkin cut. I think its the best one to get you started on a pumpkin patch project.

I'll be entering this card in:
The Cuttlebug Spot - "Welcome Fall" Challenge. Create a Fall theme project and use the cuttlebug.

Pink, Purple & Green Card

Hi Everyone,
Wow, two cards in a row. Something must be in the water :) OK I'll be honest, these were ideas that Ive been playing around with for a few days now. This card was actually scrap-lifted from Stephanie at Always Crating. She created her card for one of her Whimsically Wednesday challenges early last month and since then I have wanted to recreate her mini monster. I really liked the blinged up patch and fuzzy balls. To check out her card you can click here

This card, ironically, is not a Halloween card. It is an "Eeek! Sorry I'm late" card. I've been lagging on things and I wanted to send out a cute apology card.

I'm entering this card in Robyn's Pink Stamper Live Challenge. You needed to create a card using the colors Pink, Purple & Green.

My Imagine-Like Card feat Tiddly Inks

Hi Everyone,
This card was created for both of Emma's challenges in mind. For her Imagine Nation Monday, she wanted us to create a card using Polk-a-Dots and having it look like it came from the Imagine (hence the digi work) and for her Throwback Thursday, she wanted it to be sports theme. I had a hard time with the sports theme because I'm not a sports fan. The only sport that I like is Futbol (Soccer for us). I'm a huge fanatic when the world cup rolls around but once that's over with, it tends to die down and go away :).
OK so I stretched my imagination with this one and used the ribbon from Plaintin Schoolbook. I know that ribbons are given out to the players at the mini soccer leagues. So I think that this worked out perfectly.

Picture 1: Card featuring Soccer Annie from Tiddly Inks.
The sentiment for the card will be somewhere along the lines of: You're a blue ribbon star.

Picture 2: This is a shot of the paper I used and a sneak peek to a card I'll be creating soon.

I also wanted to direct you to Tiddly Inks. This is the site where I got my cute digis (both Soccer Star and the Cheshire cat.) Christy (the owner) has a very cute line of digi stamps. She has several lines such as Gothic Cuties, Animals, Fairies, etc. She holds challenges every Tuesday. She requires that you use one of her digis but if you cant buy one at the moment, she offers freebies. Currently she is offering some major blog candy. So hop on over and see what you would like to buy because you cant visit her store without wanting to shop. If you'd like to buy the little Soccer Star you can do so here. This link will also take you to her store.

My Think Pink RAK

Hello Everyone. Sorry Ive been away. I felt disappointed earlier this week and my energy to create or blog surf was drained. It did affect me a bit but it was time to move on. I wanted to finish this project that I had began a couple of days back. These are all Pink cards that are being sent to women that are battling breast cancer. Theresa from The Scrapbooking Queen is having a Breast Cancer Awareness Challenge and she is collecting cards to give to a Women's Center from her community. I created in total 9 cards. I would have liked to have done more but I don't think I would have finished on time. As Is I think I'm already late on the deadline.

Picture 1: This is a shot of all them.
Below are closeups of some

I am also entering this in Robyn's Pink Stamper challenges. She had a fun filled week countdown to Karlee's arrival. Everyday she had a different challenges.
Day 1: Create/Make someting to giveaway (The whole set of cards)
Day 2: Create something Cute (I defenetly think that Hello Kitty falls in that category)
Day 3: Create a Halloween/Fall project (Used Mini Monsters and also Breast Cancer Awareness Month falls in Fall. Granted we should always be aware of this but this is the month that pays tribute to it.)
Day 4: Make something to give as a RAK

Mickey Mouse Cookie

The cookie packaged up with its tags.

Closeup of the chocolate chip cookie.
A mold I bought at Disneyland was used to get this shape.

Tag: Several Prismacolors were used to get this effect.

Happy Sunday! and Happy 10-10-10!! I hope that everyone is enjoying themselves today. I recently found out that October is National Bake Month. Now I don't know about you but I don't really need a specific month to celebrate pastries. I looooooove all the sweet yumminess. My favorite cupcakes come from Sprinkles Bakery and my favorite cafe/bakery is Portos, a Cuban Southern California cafe. Many people love that bakery that to get any type of pastries during the holiday season, you must order them in advance. Its mayhem but very much worth it).

OK so onto my project... I recently went to Disneyland and I was inspired by their Halloween Time event. I'm not a huge Mickey Mouse fan but every time I go to Disneyland, I become enthralled by it all. I especially love their apples of the month and all their sweet goodies that bare a mickey mouse head or look like they came from Wonderland or the 100 Acre Forest. I decided that instead of spending $4 per cookie I would bake my own to give to my nieces as little Halloween treats.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope I've inspired you to create your own Halloween goodness.

Blog Hop Winner

Hello Everyone,
Sorry I didn't get a chance to post this yesterday. Ive had some busy days. First of all I would like to thank Stephanie from ALWAYS CRAFTING for inviting me to be part of her blog hop. She was very supportive to all us newbies and was there if we needed any help. I would also like to thank SCRAPADABADOO for sponsoring the hop and donating such a fabulous prize. Ok so enough of my ramblings, the winner of my blog candy is.....

MELISSA

Zombie-Mummy Card & Blog Candy Peek

Hello Everyone,
I hope you had a good weekend and enjoyed the blog hop. On my hop post I had written that my candy would be a surprise for the moment but I gave a clue that it was one of my favorite tools. I hardly write about my likes/dislikes but if you are a good detective then you prob guessed what it was. In the off chance that no one knew(lol) I decided to write a post about of it....

I know that many of you love Copic Markers. I don't blame you, I've seen what you can do with them. But for me, this set of Prismacolor Pencils and markers (not shown) were my pride and joy at university. My art teachers lived by these and well ...ingrained the same feeling into us. The lead is soft and buttery that makes blending easy...well ok, I wont lie - it's not that easy because just like with everything else its all about practice, practice, practice - but once you get acquainted with them then you'll be able to create beautiful magic. lol, I sound so cheesy.

Picture 1: Box of 120 possibilities
I had mentioned previously that I had left them to the side collecting dust. It wasn't until earlier this year that I took them out and displayed them on my craft table. I like to turn to them on occasion to get color inspiration. I also like using them for my cricut cuts, stamps, etc.

Picture 2: As part of my blog candy, I am offering 9 pencils to the lucky winner.
You'll receive the primary colors, black/white, some extra blues and brown.
In my eyes, you'll be able to do a lot with these sweet puppies.
My card below is a demonstration...

Picture 3: Zombie-Mummy easel card.
Sentiment: Moonlight Treat.
A2 size.

Ill be back tomorrow with another project and the winner. You still have time to comment on my blog hop post here to be eligible for the grand prize and for my candy. For an extra chance for my candy, comment on this Zombie-Mummy post.

Im also entering this card in Cristina's Spooktacular Challenge over at Crafting with Cristina. Her theme for this week is Halloween Theme and you can not use orange and black combined. Go over to her site and join her fun challenges.

Robot Dog (PKS)

I'm back with a quick post. I have been wanting to play along with Peechy Keen Stamps Challenge Blog for a while now but I kept missing the deadline. I had originally began this robot dog for one of their previous challenge but I got as far as cutting my dog and gluing him together. This time they have a sketch to follow and you must use kraft paper - which is a first for me. I know, right? But I finally got on the bandwagon :)  With their sketch, making this dog come alive became possible and easier for me.

Picture 1: I added the birthday hat to his tail to give him a minor silly effect.
The outside sentiment says, " 'Bot dog Hugs..."

Picture 2: I used scraps for the inside of the card. I borrowed this idea from Dorcas. She likes to layer her scraps to give the card a more layered look and to reduce her scrap pile at the same time.

Picture 3: Closeup of some minor shading. When using my Prismacolors I can add a bit of light and dark.

Thanks for stopping by/commenting.
Don't forget to come back. I will be posting more fun Halloween projects.

Fall/Halloween Blog Hop is Here

Hello Everyone.
The blog hop is here! Today I will be partaking in a hop with 10 other talented ladies. If you are coming over from crafty Sandra's blog then you are on the right track. If you happened to have stumbled across my blog/post and would like to join us from the beginning then please click here.

The lovely Stephanie from Always Crafting is hosting today's hop full of fun projects and inspiration. The theme is Fall & Halloween so you will find an assortment of goodies, both blog candy and eye candy. We are happy to be sponsored by SCRAPADABADOO. They generously donated a Tim Holtz on the edge Die and a Kaiser Kraft Paper Pack. However, don't be fooled and think that this die is regular, it is nothing of the sort. It is an autographed die signed by Mr. Holtz himself. One lucky hopper will have the opportunity to win this grand prize. In order to be eligible for the prize you must visit every blog and leave a sweet comment. You will have until Wednesday to hop around and comment. Winners will be announced on Thursday.

So onto my project...
I created a Halloween Back to School theme project. I'm still stuck on back to school. Lol. I think it's because my sister just started grad school and I'm looking into joining her. I actually miss school. It was all that studying that I don't miss much of :)  For this set, I used the lovely sweethearts Mr & Mrs Frankenstein.

Picture 1: My set of altered comp books and newly created post it holder. Im going to make a bookmark as well but that will later.

Picture 2: This is an altered mini composition book. It features the Bride with a couple of amazing looking skullies chomping at the bit. And of  course like all men, Frankstein couldnt let her be so he's in the background trying to hog up the spotlight. :)

Picture 3: This customized post-it note holder spotlights Frankie. I learned how to make this holder from one of our fellow blogger Trish. She was kind enough to re-shoot her video for me so I could understand the measurements better. And well I did. I got the hang of it and this is my 3rd one already.

Picture 4: And finally the piece of resistance! (said in a french accent). This is an altered composition book featuring the Sweethearts. In August I had altered several notebooks. I noticed that the Mead brand is better to work with. Its much more flexible than the Staples brand. So if you are planning to alter a comp book for yourself, go with the Mead brand.

Picture 5: Closeup of some of my coloring and inking

I will be offering blog candy. For the moment I will keep it a surprise. But it might be a favorite tool of mine that isn't used by many but I prefer it to shade and color. Or it might be another type of crafting goodie. To be eligible, become a follower and tell me what do you like most about the Fall season. Make sure to come back, Ill have another project to share.

Next on the list is the talented Dorcas. Hop on over to her site and get ready to make some treat boxes. You wont be disappointed.
